WBB Plays First Road Game at Detroit Mercy Tuesday

Scouting Ball State: Junior forward Suzanne Grossnickle had a career day in the Cardinals 64-63 win over Wright State Sunday afternoon in Worthen Arena. Grossnickle chipped in 16 and nine rebounds on the day. Senior forward Emily Maggert led the squad with 20 points and 14 rebounds for her 23rd double-double of her career.
Scouting Detroit Mercay: The Titans opened the season with a 58-53 victory over Oakland Friday night in Calihan Hall behind the efforts of senior Tayler Langham who chipped in a career-high 16 points in the win. Detroit Mercy had three other playes score in double figures on the night.
The Coaches: Ball State head coach Kelly Packard is in her third season at Ball State . . . Packard's overall record at Ball State is 40-27, while her Mid-American Conference mark is 21-11 . . . Detroit Mercy's head coach is Autumn Rademacher . . . she enters her third season as head coach for the Titans . . . Rademacher was the 2009-10 Horizon League Coach of the Year . . . The Titans continue to improve each year as the former Detroit star guided the Titans to a 17-14 overall record a year ago, including a 14-4 mark in the Horizon League.
The Series: Tonight's game is the third meeting all-time between Ball State and Detroit Mercy. The Titans and the Cardinals are knotted at 1-1 in the all-time series record. The Cardinals are 1-0 in 2010-11 over teams in the Horizon league after their win over Wright State Sunday. Ball State won its last meeting over the Titans 71-66 in Detroit in 1987-88.
Horizon League : The Cardinals will face four school's from the Horizon League this season Wright State, Detroit Mercey, Valparaiso and Butler. Ball State travels to Detroit Mercy Tuesday for its third meeting and will end on the road at Valparaiso, Nov. 24.
