MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State women's cross country team will send three runners to Saturday's NCAA Great Lakes Regional hosted by Oakland University at the Katke-Cousins Golf Course in Rochester, Mich. The women's 6K meet is slated to start at noon.
Representing the Cardinals will be fifth-year seniors Ali Bishel (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton H.S.) and Kelsey Nielsen (Bremen, Ind./Bremen H.S.), as well as redshirt-sophomore Madeline Goheen (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger H.S.).
The Cardinals will be racing for a chance to make the upcoming NCAA Championships which will be hosted by Indiana State Nov. 22 at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center. The top two teams and the top four individual runners from a non-qualifying team at the regional meet advance to the NCAA Championship.

This season, Bishel continues to lead the Ball State cross country program, turning in a season-best 6K time of 21.37.7 at the Mid-American Conference Championships to place 19th among the 105-runner field. Nielsen was BSU's second-fastest runner at the league meet, placing 55th with a season-best time of 22:57.3, while Goheen followed in 59th with a season-fast clocking of 23:03.4.
