Robert Eddins Earns Weekly MAC Honor
October 04, 2010 | Football
Robert Eddins, a senior defensive end on the Ball State football team, has been selected as the Mid-American Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week for his perfomance in the Cardinals 31-17 win at Central Michigan.
Eddins tallied a career high 4.5 sacks against the Chippewas, surpassing his previous career high of two sacks and tallying the second most in a single game in Ball State history behind only the five by Toby Beegle at CMU in 1990. Eddins has 15.5 career sacks, which puts him seventh on Ball State's career sacks list. He needs one sack to move into sixth and pass Rush Brown, who tallied 17 sacks for the Cardinals from 1976-79.
Ball State, 2-3 overall and 1-0 in the MAC, will host Western Michigan Saturday in a Noon Homecoming game at Scheumann Stadium.
