Men's Tennis Faces WMU In MAC Championship Semifinals

BUFFALO, NY - The Ball State University men's tennis team (12-11) advanced to the semifinal round of the Mid-American Conference Championship after posting a 4-0 defeat over host Buffalo Thursday afternoon. The Cardinals will now face MAC rival
"This was a match where we needed to take care of business," said head coach Bill Richards. "We are just taking one match at a time attitude."
The Cardinals gained control early in their match after winning the doubles point. The No. 2 doubles twosome of sophomore Eduardo Pavia and Andres Monroy were the first to finish after capturing an 8-1 victory over Octavian Stane and Kristof Custers. Senior Jorge Rodriguez teamed up with freshman Derek Carpetner to seal the doubles point, defeating Alex Kalinin and Guilherme Smaniotto, 8-6 at No. 3.
