Men's Tennis Posts 7-0 Win over Detroit Mercy

Ball State University's men's tennis team, under the direction of head coach Bill Richards, completed a weekend sweep with a 7-0 win over Detroit Mercy Sunday at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
The Cardinals, who started the weekend with a 7-0 victory over IUPUI Saturday, won the doubles point over Detroit Mercy and then swept the five singles matches with only one going to a tiebreaker set.
With the win, Ball State improved to 4-2 on the season, while Detroit Mercy fell to 1-4 on the year.
Cliff Morrison improved to 4-0 on the season in singles, while Jose Perdomo and Eduardo Pavia each improved to 4-2 in singles on the year with their wins over Detroit Mercy. Shaun Bussert's win at No. 4 singles improved his season mark to 3-2.
Perdomo and Jose Rodriguez improved to 4-2 in doubles on the season, while the duo of Zane Smith and Bussert evened their season mark at 1-1. The doubles combination of Pavia and Jon Wegener won their first match of the season as a team.
The Cardinals will travel to Big Ten Conference opponent Sunday for an 11 a.m. match in Evanston, Ill.
