Women's Golf Completes First Spring Tournament

Ball State University's women's golf team, under the direction of head coach Katherine Mowat, finished 33rd out of 43 teams at the Kiawah Island Classic in Kiawah Island, S.C. The tournament marked the Cardinals first event of the spring season.
Ball State completed the tournament with rounds of 326-321-328=975.
Sophomore Rachael Pruett was Ball State's top performer with an 85-73-80=238. The 73 was a career low round for Pruett.
Junior Kirsty O'Connor carded scores of 75-82-83=240. Brittany Kelly, a sophomore who led the Cardinals with a 75.78 average this past fall, managed scores of 82-85-82=249. Senior Sarah Windlan managed an 84-86-83=253, while freshman Kristtini Cain tallied an 87-81-86=254.
The Cardinals will compete at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational March 6-8 at Rio Verde Golf Course in Rio Verde, Ariz. The tournament will be a 54-hole format, and is hosted by Western Michigan of the Mid-American Conference.
