Field Hockey Hosts MAC Tournament Thursday Through Saturday

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State field hockey team will play host to the Mid-American Conference Field Hockey Tournament for the first time since the 2004 season. The Cardinals have hosted the Tournament 14 times in the past 26 years.
Along with having home field advantage, Ball State (4-14, 2-8 MAC) earned the No. 5 seed, and begin Tournament play 11 a.m. Thursday against No. 4 seed Central Michigan (4-6 MAC). Ohio (8-2 in MAC) and Kent State (8-2) earned the top two seeds, as well as first round byes. The first seeded Bobcats will take on the winner of Central Michigan and Ball State, while the Golden Flashes battle the winner of the No. 3 Miami (7-3 MAC) against No. 6 Missouri State (1-7 MAC) matchup.
The winner of the MAC Tournament will earn a spot in an NCAA Tournament Play-In game on November 14. Last season, the Golden Flashes defeated Ohio in the MAC Tournament Championship. The team went later fell one goal short against Massachusetts in the NCAA Tournament Play-in game.
Tickets can be purchased at the entry gate. Prices are as follows: $20 for all sessions, $10 adult for one session and $5 youth for one session.
