Scouting Ball State: The Cardinals 2-2 overall will begin a three game roadswing as they take on North Dakota State Friday and North Dakota Sunday. Ball State defeated Valparaiso Tuesday night in Worthen Arena, 71-64. The Cardinals victory was the first win over Valparaiso in Worthen Arena. Senior forward Danielle Gratton led the Cardinals offensively with a 17 point performance. Senior guard Audrey McDonald scored 11 points, while sophomore guard Patrice King added 10 to the victory. Junior forward Emily Maggert chipped in nine points and led defensively with 14 rebounds. Ball State faces North Dakota State Friday for a 5 p.m. (CT) tipoff before it heads to the University of North Dakota to take on the Fighting Sioux Sunday at 2 p.m. (CT). The Cardinals are coached by Kelly Packard who is in her second season at Ball State. She owns a 28-11 overall record with the Cardinals.
Scouting North Dakota State: North Dakota State heads into Friday's game with a 1-3 overall record. The Bison won their first contest over Northern Iowa (64-62) but have dropped their last three since their season opener. North Dakota State has falling to DePaul, Wymoning and Minnesota. Head Coach Carolyn DeHoff is in her first season with the Bison.
Scouting North Dakota: North Dakota has started off the season with a 1-4 overall record. The Fighting Sioux dropped three straight to Green Bay (56-74), Wisconsin (43-68), Wyoming (59-85) before earning their first victory over New Mexico State Monday, 57-50. North Dakota lost 85-46 to Gonzaga Wednesday evening. The Fighting Sioux are currently 0-2 at home this season. North Dakota is coached by Gene Roebuck who is in his 22nd season.
