Men's Golf Tied for Second at EY Invitational

The Ball State men's golf team is tied for second at its own Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational at Delaware Country Club after the first round of play. Monday's second round was suspended due to darkness and will resume Tuesday at 8:45 a.m.
The third and final round will follow Tuesday immediately following the completion of the second round.
Bowling Green leads the tournament with a 284, while Eastern Kentucky and Ball State are tied at 290. Ball State's Brian Maurer tallied a first round 69 to lead the Cardinals and is tied for second. Andrew Rhodes is tied for seventh with a 71. Ben Lakoff is tied for 14th with a 72. Eric Steger tallied a 78 and Eric Skillman managed an 80.
Ball State played a second team in the tournament and that group is tied for fourth with a 291. Matt Schumaker is in sixth with a 70. Ross Cosat is tied for 14th with a 72. Zac Treash managed a 74, Anthony Novak recorded a 75 and Chris Hanson carded a 77.
Two Ball State golfers - Zac Henderson and T.J. Carpenter - competed as individuals. Carpenter is tied for 20th with a 73, while Henderson is tied for 28th with a 74.
