Ball State's men's golf team finished sixth out of 14 teams, and defeated the other three Mid-American Conference schools, at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate hosted by Indiana University in Zionsville, Ind.
The Cardinals managed a final day 295, which was the second lowest round of the day, and ended with a three round 897. Michigan won the event with an 880, while MAC schools Eastern Michigan had an 899, Kent State was 10th with a 904 and Toledo was 12th with a 937.
Andrew Rhodes led Ball State and finished sixth in the event with a 72-75-73. Brian Maurer tied for 14th with a 70-82-71. Eric Steger managed a 73-78-75, Ben Lakoff registered a 79-76-76 and Anthony Novak carded a 87-79-83. Chris Hanson competed as an individual and managed a 74-83-89.
The Cardinals will return to action Monday and Tuesday at their own Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational at Delaware Country Club. The event will feature 36 holes Monday and 18 holes Tuesday.
