The Cardinals entered the game as the seven seed.
Both Elizabeth Milian and Kari Seddon were sharp on the mound as the first hit of the game came in the top of the fourth inning. Alicia Barkley singled to the left side of the infield.

Senior Amanda Pick led off the fifth inning with a stand-up double for the Cardinals. She advanced to third off a sacrifice bunt from Milian.
Freshman Kate Wilczynski reached first after being hit by a pitch. Katelyn Gunderson entered the game to pinch run for Wilczynski.
The Cardinals executed a double steal to score their first run of the game. Pick scored and Gunderson was able to advance to third base off a throwing error by the CMU shortstop.
Kam Holle laid down a squeeze bunt to the third base line.
Wilczynski hit an RBI triple to centerfield to give the Cardinals a 3-2 lead in the top of the seventh inning.
Brittney Jones saved the BSU lead as she robbed Jill Schulz of a home run in left field.
