Scouting Ball State: The Cardinals (0-1) will play their first home game Friday when they host the consolation bracket of the preseason WNIT. Ball State faces Robert Morris for an 8 p.m. tip-off in Worhen Arena. The Cardinals opened the season with a road loss at Indiana Nov. 14. Ball State fell to the Hoosiers 84-68. The Cardinals fell behind in the opening minutes of the game and couldn't come back from their early deficit. Four Cardinals scored in double digits. Junior Audrey McDonald led the pack with 13 points, junior Danielle Gratton scored 12 and seniors Kiley Jarrett and Porchia Green finished the night with 11. Despite the loss, Ball State out rebounded the Hoosiers 38-to-37. Sophomore Emily Maggert had the most boards with seven.
Scouting Robert Morris: Robert Morris fell 79-49 to Xavier Friday afternoon in the first round of the WNIT. RMU is now 0-1 on the season. Robert Morris had two players score in double figures against Xavier. Junior forward Monet Johnson led the Colonials with 19 points and junior forward Monica Jones scored 11. The score was tied twice in the early stages of the game, but Xavier built a 10-point (38-28) halftime lead that Robert Morris couldn't overcome. Robert Morris is part of the Northeast Conference and it is coached by Sal Buscaglia. RMU is located in Moon Township, Pa.
