Salmon Accepts Head Coaching Position At Cincinnati

MUNCIE, Ind. ? Ball State head soccer coach Michelle Salmon has accepted the head soccer coach position at the University Cincinnati, the UC Athletic Department announced on Thursday afternoon. In two seasons as the head coach of the Cardinals, Salmon has guided BSU to back-to-back Mid-American Conference regular season championships.

The Cardinals posted a 13-5-2 overall record last season and a 9-1-1 mark in MAC play. The Cardinals were one of the top defensive teams in the entire country as their 0.626 goals against average led the MAC and was 16th in NCAA Division I. Ball State also limited conference foes to just five goals against, tying the all-time low for a single season in MAC play.
Assistant coach Abby Richter will take over as interim head coach while a national search for Salmon's successor will begin immediately.
