MUNCIE, Ind. -- Head coach Bill Richards of the Ball State men's tennis team has announced the signing of Eduardo Pavia of Carolina, Puerto Rico. Pavia is ranked 48th in the United States according to the tennis recruiting network www.tennisrecruiting.net. Puerto Rico is part of the United States Tennis Association (USTA).
"Eduardo is a very experienced player who has performed well in all United States National Championships along with many International Tennis Federation events," said Richards. "He will represent Puerto Rico in Davis Cup play this summer. He is someone that should make an immediate impact on our program and will contribute significantly as a freshman."
For the last two years Pavia has compiled a USTA record of 40-12.
Richards previously signed Shaun Bussert of Decatur, Ga., who is currently ranked 105th as a senior in the USTA.
