MUNCIE, Ind. --Although many fans of the Ball State Cardinals look upon this upcoming basketball season as a rebuilding year, it is not seen that way through the eyes of junior guard Laron Frazier.
The six-foot, 170-pound transfer out of
“Hard work has helped me make it here to the level I've dreamed of playing at,” Frazier said. “Hard work on every possession, on both sides of the ball will help us come out on top.”
Frazier's talent and knowledge of the game came progressively with the help and motivation of his family.
Off the court his mother, Yolanda, and father, Andrew, stressed the importance of education. On the court, his father and cousin Kelvin pushed his abilities to compete with the best.
“I want to improve on defense and have more steals, scoring will come later,” Frazier said about his transition to Division I basketball. “I love to score, but setting my teammates up to score is just as important. I want to help out however possible to win.”

With Frazier's combination of potential stats and leadership, along with the desire he says his team has, it's easy to understand why the newcomer is excited to get the season started.
One thing is for sure, when the season begins Nov. 9 against Butler, Frazier will continue to repeat to himself what he has stressed he wants most out of this season.
“I want to win.”
