Swimming & Diving Host Doug Coers Invitational

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University men's and women's swimming and diving team will host the fourth annual Doug Coers Invitational at Lewellen Aquatic Center beginning Friday, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. The meet will conclude on Saturday, Nov. 17.
The invitational is named after the late Doug Coers, who was a four-year member of the Ball State men's swimming and diving team from 1986-1989. From 1992-1993, Coers coached the Catalina Swim Club, the Cardinal Swim Club, the Muncie Central High School girls' swim Team and was an assistant coach for the Ball State women's swimming and diving program. After that Coers coached the Dynamo Swim Club in Atlanta, Ga., the next for years.
The Cardinals welcome Grand Valley State and Findlay College to the Invitational. The two-day invitational has a total of 40 events. The first event will be the women's and men's 200 free relay. Diving events will occur between sessions, and the invitational will end with the women's and men's 400 free relay.
For the first time in school history, the invitational will be broadcast live on 91.3 WCRD.
