Bishel Leads Cardinals At Pre-Nationals

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Ball State women's cross country team placed 26th in the Pre-Nationals Meet hosted by Indiana State.
Ball State competed in the women's White Race which included 35 teams and over 200 participants. Jenny Barringer of Colorado was the overall winner in the women's 6k White Race with a new record setting time of 19:48.3.
Princeton (149) was the top team in the race, followed by Arizona State in second place with 171 points. The rest of the top five was made up of Michigan (173) in third place, Washington (187) in fourth place and Illinois (189) in the fifth spot.
Ali Bishel led the way for the Cardinals by finishing 31st (21:00). Ball State finished with 666 points. Vanessa Gilbert (22:12, 138th) and Kelsey Nielsen (22:23, 153rd) were the next two Cards to finish.
Sarah Kehe (22:42, 166th) and Brittany Ade (22:51, 178th) contributed to the Cardinals 26th place finish.
Ball State will return to action October 27, as they compete in the Mid-American Conference Championship.
