Women's Cross Country Opens Season At Butler; No-Team Scoring

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Ball State women's cross country team opened its 2006 season last Friday at the Butler Open.

The Cardinals had five runners finish in the top 10 at the event, however there was no team scoring kept for the meet. Freshmen Sarah Kehe and Ali Bishel finished second and third, respectively, with times of 18:55.

Freshman Lisa Arrowsmith (6th, 19:44), senior Amanda Ponsot (7th, 19:44) and freshman Brittany Ade (8th, 19:48) rounded out the top 10.

Butler's Genevieve Gardner won the meet with a time of 18:28.

Ball State returns to action Sept. 15 at the Indiana Intercollegiates in Terre Haute, Ind.
