The pregame concert in Muncie is one of several gameday promotions and activities slated for the 2006 BSU home football season, which begins under the lights Aug. 31 against Eastern Michigan.
Cheap Trick and 38 Special will headline the ‘End of Summer Jam 2006' concert presented by Pepsi, Benson Motorcycles and Bud Light to be held in the streets of downtown Muncie at 3 p.m prior to the Ball State vs. Indiana game.
Muncie Downtown Development welcomes Cardinals and Hoosiers fans to the biggest pre-game bash ever to hit the streets of downtown Muncie! ‘End of Summer Jam 2006' is welcomed by WLBC, WERK, The MAX and Muncie Downtown Development, along with BSU Athletics.
About End of Summer Jam 2006: The same day as Ball State vs. IU and how else to celebrate than with GREAT music followed by GREAT football!
Cheap Trick("Surrender," "Dream Police," "I Want You To Want Me," "The Flame") and .38 Special ("Hold on Loosely," "Caught Up In You," "Back Where You Belong") will rock the stage! Gates for the ‘End of Summer Jam 2006' concert open at 2 p.m. with the show ending at 5:45 p.m. Kick-off for the Ball State vs. Indiana football game is set for 6:30 p.m. MITS (Muncie Indiana Transit System) will provide complimentary shuttle service following the concert to and from the football game.
About Ball State University Football: Ball State opens the 2006 season with a Thursday, Aug. 31, home game vs. Eastern Michigan, and then hosts Big Ten Conference and in-state foe Indiana University on September 9. The Hoosiers' trip marks the first time in school history an opponent from the Big Ten has played in Muncie. Ball State will open the season with four of its first five games at home and will face three Big Ten teams. The first 10,000 fans will get commemorative BSU Football thunderstixx for this game.

Tickets for the concert go on sale this Saturday, July 22 at 10am [$35 reserved & $20 lawn] and will be available at all Ticketmaster outlets, charge by phone at (765) 644-3131 in Anderson and (260) 424-1811 in Fort Wayne, and through www.ticketmaster.com.
Ball State University students and Alumni can receive a $5 discount on tickets purchased at the Worthen Arena box office.

For Ball State vs. Indiana University ticket information please contact the Ball State University Athletics office at 1-888-BSU-TICKETS or on-line at www.ballstatesports.com. Indiana game tickets will only be available to people purchasing Season Tickets or the Three-Game Mini Package until Aug. 1. If tickets for the IU game remain after Aug. 1,they will then go on sale to the general public.
