Women's Tennis Suffers Loss to Buffalo in Final Match of Regular Season

Jessica Thompson and Haly Calderwood teamed up for the Cardinals' lone doubles win at the No. 1 slot. The duo defeated UB's Andreea Novaceanu and Tina Jacob 8-7 (5).
Thompson and Calderwood both carried on the success in singles play. Thompson tallied a straight-set 6-4, 6-3 victory at the No. 1 position over Novaceau, while Calderwood added a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 win at No. 3 over Natalie Dean.
The Cardinals, who finish the regular season with a 9-11 overall record and a 3-5 league mark, head to the 2006 Mid-American Conference Tournament, hosted by Miami, next weekend. No. 6 seed Ball State is slated to take on No. 3 seed Miami Friday at 10 a.m.
