Senior Jill Scully highlighted BSU winning the mile with a time of 4:55.70. The time is Field Sports Building and personal record. Scully broke the record time of 4:56.89 which she previously set in 2004.
Junior Terri Abraham continued to find success in the long jump. Abraham's jump of 20-1 1/2 earned her first-place honors and an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. The junior posted her second win of the night in the triple jump with a personal record mark of 40-2 3/4.
Senior Nicole Hartford picked up a win in the 3,000 with a time of 10:19.00h, while Jennifer McCoy finished first in the 60 hurdles (8.40h). Sophomores Amber Williams and Yvonne Ferguson won their respective events. Williams placed first in the 60 dash (7.20h) and Ferguson recorded a time of 56.30h to win the 400.
Finishing second for the Cardinals were senior Tiffany Notarfrancisco (weight throw, 56-1 1/4), junior Amanda Barnhart (long jump, 19-7), sophomore Christina Whitt (200, 24.90h) and freshman Lanae Stovall (60 hurdles, 8.50h).
The track and field team will head to Bowling Green, Ohio, next weekend for the Mid-American Conference Championships Feb. 24-25. The two-day event will begin Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. with the women's long jump.
