Women's Tennis Closes Out Day One At Miami Invitational

OXFORD, Ohio - The Ball State University women's tennis team concluded its matches at the University of Miami Invitational on Saturday evening. BSU dropped all of its doubles matches on the day, while winning eight singles matches.
In first round singles action, Haley Calderwood (Newington, Australia/Danebank) defeated Jemma Euers (EKU) 6-2, 7-5. Jennifer Pollack (Memphis, Tenn./White Station) grabbed the 6-3, 6-0 win over Christa Ames (WSU). Also posting a first round victory was Christine Stromberg (Rollingmeadows, Ill./Fremd), who earned the 6-1, 6-3 win over Jeanette Fieder (XU). BSU's Emma Retter upset host Jessica Linden of Miami 6-4, 3-6 (10-7).
Pollack, Retter and Stromberg were also victorious in round two singles action.
