Junior Vandi Ogden tallied her third goal of the season when she put the Cardinals on the scoreboard first at the 15:13 mark.
Approximately one minute later (16:18), the host Eagles knotted the score at 1-1 when Michele Lawrence knocked in a goal off a penalty kick.
BSU bounced back early in the second period when Decker converted her game-winning goal from 10 yards out after she received a pass from senior Lindsay Wiltshire and sophomore Angie Heyer. The winner was Decker's first of the 2005 campaign.
"Bailey's goal was pretty attractive," said Ball State head coach Ron Rainey. "The combination that Lindsay, Angie and Bailey put together was very good. Overall, we played very well on corners and played well defensively. I am happy to come away with a split on the weekend."
The Cardinals outshot the Eagles 10-7, yet EMU posted a slight 7-5 advantage in corner kicks. Ogden led the offensive attack with four shots, while freshman Annie Aiello added three. Sophomore Sarah Leibel, freshman Emily Rein and Decker recorded one shot apiece.
Ball State continues league play when it travels to Ohio Friday. The match is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
