For the second straight season, Ball State junior wide receiver Jordan Williams has been named to the Fred Biletnikoff Award Watch List.
“Jordan had a breakout season in 2013 as a sophomore despite sharing the limelight with some other highly productive wide receivers,” said Ball State head coach Pete Lembo. “We are hoping he can become an even bigger factor this fall as well as in his senior season. Jordan’s combination of size, power, speed and intelligence makes him the perfect fit for the boundary receiver position in our offensive system. He is a 3.0 student in the classroom and a true student of the game on the field.”
As a sophomore for the Cardinals in 2013, Williams was named to the All-Mid-American Conference Third Team and was on the Biletnikoff Award Watch List. He played in 12 games last season and registered a career best two touchdown receptions at Eastern Michigan, at Akron and vs. Miami University. Against MU, Williams had five catches for a career high 161 yards.
Williams managed 72 receptions for 1,050 yards with 10 touchdowns in 13 games in 2013.
The Biletnikoff Award is presented by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation and annually recognizes the outstanding receiver in college football. The 2014 Biletnikoff Award winner will be presented live Dec. 11, on The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN.
