What's On Tap:  Ball State women's basketball travels for the first time in two weeks when it plays at Illinois State Sunday in Redbird Arena at 2:05 p.m. (EST).  The Redbirds are a member of the Missouri Valley Conference and have started the season with a 5-3 mark.  The Redbirds won their last meeting over the Cardinals by a score of 63-52 last season.  Ball State enters the game with a 3-7 overall record.

About Illinois State:  The Redbirds opened the season with a win at home over Morehead State (62-45).  After losing two straight, Illinois State went on to win three in a row over Illinois Chicago (86-74), Western Kentucky (83-68) and Milwaukee (75-54) before falling to Michigan (56-45).  The Redbirds are coming off of a 64-46 victory over Northwestern which was played Dec. 7.

The Coaches: Ball State head coach Brady Sallee is in his first season at Ball State.   Sallee's career coaching record is 139-116 and he is 3-7 with the Cardinals.  He was named the 11th head women's basketball coach in Ball State history May 10.  During his tenure at Eastern Illinois Sallee posted a 136-109 career record at EIU.  He led the Panthers to the institution's first ever Ohio Valley Conference title during the 2009-10 campaign. In 2011-12, Eastern Illinois was 22-9 overall, posted a 13-3 OVC mark and competed in the Women's National Invitation Tournament.  Stephanie Glance was named the sixth head women's basketball coach in Illinois State history April 20, 2010.  She is the only coach to work with Hall of Fame women's basketball mentors Pat Summitt and the late Kay Yow. Glance is adding her own chapter to that history with a record-breaking first season with the Redbirds. Illinois State posted a 24-11 record in 2010-11, the fifth-most wins in school history and the fifth-consecutive 20-win season, and finished tied for second in the Valley with a 12-6 mark after being picked to finish fourth. She currently owns a 29-14 career record.
