   BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Ball State sophomore Lindsay Wallace concluded the final day of the Hoosier Open with a third-place showing in the pentathlon at Indiana's Gladstein Fieldhouse.

   With Wallace's effort, the BSU indoor track & field team finished the two-day meet with 12 top five efforts, including four top three performances.

   Wallace, the lone Ball State student-athlete to compete on the final day of the Hoosier Open, posted a score of 2,729 to place third overall in the pentathlon, including a career-best effort of 28-11.25 (8.82m) in the shot put to place second among the participants in the event.

   She opened the day with a time of 10.25 in the 60m hurdles, and followed by clearing 4-08.25 (1.43m) in the high jump. After her career-best performance in the shot put, Wallace closed the meet with a mark of 15-00.75 (4.59m) in the long jump and a clocking of 2:36.30 in the 800m run.

   The Ball State track & field team returns to action Jan. 12 when it travels to Bowling Green, Ohio, for the Bowling Green Invitational.
