What's On Tap:  Ball State women's basketball welcomes Northern Kentucky to Worthen Arena for the first time in school history.  The Norse are a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference and have started the season with a 1-5 mark.  This is the second opponent from the Atlantic Sun; BSU has faced this season, having also played Stetson, Dec. 1.  Ball State enters the game with a 3-6 overall record after its 73-64 overtime victory Thursday over Detroit Mercy in Worthen Arena.  Ball State and Northern Kentucky have never met.

About Northern Kentucky:  The Norse opened the season with four straight losses including a 63-52 setback to fellow Mid-American Conference member Miami Nov. 12.  Northern Kentucky's lone victory came over Youngstown State (Nov. 27) by a score of 66-64.  The Norse are led by Tiara Hopper with 12.0 points per game and Kayla Thacker who is averaging 11.2 points per contest.

The Coaches: Ball State head coach Brady Sallee is in his first season at Ball State.   Sallee's career coaching record is 139-115 and he is 3-6 with the Cardinals.  He was named the 11th head women's basketball coach in Ball State history May 10.  During his tenure at Eastern Illinois Sallee posted a 136-109 career record at EIU.  He led the Panthers to the institution's first ever Ohio Valley Conference title during the 2009-10 campaign. In 2011-12, Eastern Illinois was 22-9 overall, posted a 13-3 OVC mark and competed in the Women's National Invitation Tournament.  Dawn Plitzuweit is entering her first season at the helm of Northern Kentucky.  Plitzuweit spent the last five years as the associate head coach of the Michigan Wolverines.  She was named Northern Kentucky's head coach on May 10.  Plitzuweit helped Michigan post a 20-12 record and advance to the NCAA Tournament in 2011-12. The Wolverines also defeated Illinois in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament last season.  Plitzuweit was also the head coach for five seasons at Grand Valley State before joining Michigan's staff.
