MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's basketball team is proud to announce plans for the programs first ever foreign exhibition tour under the direction of head women's basketball coach Kelly Packard, which will be in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada, August 9-15.
Per NCAA rules, basketball programs are allowed to take a foreign trip once every four years which will allow the Cardinals to get a head start as they are awarded 10 practices before their descent to Canada. The foreign tour also allows the incoming 2012-2013 class to experience their first collegiate practices and competitions prior to the typical October start date.
"It has been my goal since arriving at Ball State to provide this opportunity for the young women in our program," said Ball State head women's basketball coach Kelly Packard. "I complement our staff and team on the efforts put toward the fundraising necessary to make this opportunity a reality. This will be a trip that will most likely become a career highlight for our 2012-2013 roster."
Ball State is scheduled to compete in three to four games. The Cardinals are working with Basketball Travelers Inc., which was the same company the Ball State men's basketball team used last summer.
