MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State softball team swept Northern Illinois 6-2 and 8-3, in a doubleheader April 8.  The two wins give the Cardinals a 4-4 Mid-American Conference record and 13-22 overall.

In game one, Kelli Jeziorski gave the Cardinals an early lead in the third inning with a triple that would score Allie Pennock.

Abby Gross started the fourth inning with a double to left centerfield.  Two batters later, Amber Wolf came to the plate and hit her first home run of the season to put Ball State ahead 3-0.

In game two Ball State jumped on top 1-0 in the first inning off a two-out single by Gross that scored Pennock.
