Ball State's athletic department and Cardinal Varsity Club hosted its annual Tipoff Dinner Sunday, Oct. 23, in Worthen Arena.

In addition to presenting the men's and women's basketball teams to the over 250 guests in attendance, the athletic department also presented Morry Mannies with a small token of its appreciation for his 56 years as the "Voice of the Cardinals".  Mannies has announced this will be his final season broadcasting Ball State football and men's basketball games for the Ball State Radio Network.

The annual CVC Tipoff Dinner is held each year and the coaches and student-athletes from both teams are introduced as they prepare to begin their new seasons.

The men's basketball team opens the 2011-12 schedule with a Mon., Nov. 7, exhibition game with Taylor at 7 p.m.   Ball State's women's team will open the season Thurs., Nov. 3, with a 7 p.m. exhibition game vs. St. Joseph's (Ind.).
