The 2014 Cardinal Varsity Club Golf Classic, presented by the Ball State Federal Credit Union, will be held Thursday, May 22, at the Player’s Club Golf Course in Yorktown, Ind.
The CVC Golf Classic began in 1962 and is currently Ball State athletics’ largest annual fundraiser with all of the proceeds going directly to benefit the over 464 student-athletes who compete in 19 varsity sports.
The format will be a four person best ball scramble. There will be a morning flight with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m., and an afternoon flight with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided beginning at Noon.
Prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin, longest drive, first place, second place and third place, as well as an opportunity to win on all par 3’s. Prizes will be awarded after each flight. Mulligans can be purchased on the day of the event for $20 per team (must be cash). This includes one mulligan per player on both the front and the back nine. There will also be a skins game for $20 per team (must be cash). Teams can pay for both mulligans and the skins game during registration. Both the mulligans and the skins game are optional.
The cost of the outing is $150.00 per player or $600.00 per foursome and includes greens fees, cart, lunch, gift and a free spot in the putting contest. All registrations are due no later than May 16. There is an early bird special for those who sign up by May 2. Anyone who signs up before May 2 will be entered for a chance to win a foursome at Player’s Club with carts included.
