   A four-year letterwinner for the Ball State softball team, Kim Mazzapica was named an assistant coach for the program on July 1, 2013 after completing her first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the program.

   A three-time conference champion as a pitcher for Ball State, Mazzapica helped the Cardinals post a 37-17 overall record in 2013, to go along with an 18-3 MAC mark and the program’s fourth MAC regular season title in the past five seasons.

   Mazzapica helped the Ball State pitching staff rank fourth in the Mid-American Conference with a combined 2.74 earned run average during the 2013 season.

   Her experience in the circle for the Cardinals’ helped Mazzapica mentor freshman pitcher Nicole Steinbach to the program’s first MAC Freshman of the Year award, as well as to recognition on the All-MAC Second Team and MAC All-Freshman. Steinbach finished the year with a 14-9 record and ranked fifth in the MAC with a 2.28 ERA, while her six shutouts ranked second in the conference.

   Mazzapica also worked heavily with freshman pitcher Kelsey Schifferdecker who posted a 15-5 overall record. Schifferdecker’s 15 wins ranked fifth in the conference, while her 2.87 ERA was ninth.

2012 (Sr.): Earned fourth letter at Ball State ... helped guide the Cardinals to just their third Mid-American Conference regular season title in program history with a 40-15 (17-3 MAC) record ... MAC West Division Pitcher of the Week (March 27) ... made 33 appearances in the circle, including 25 starts ... posted a 23-4 record with a 3.53 ERA over 176.1 innings of work ... posted a perfect 11-0 record in MAC play, finishing the season as the only league pitcher with an unblemished league mark ... her .852 overall winning percentage is the second-best winning mark in MAC history ... credited with wins in 10 consecutive appearances from April 7 (vs. Akron) to May 6 (vs. Bowling Green) ... tallied 79 strikeouts on the year, with at least one strikeout in 29 appearances ... recorded three complete game shutouts, starting with an 8-0, five-inning victory over Temple (March 2) in which she limited the Owls to just two hits and a walk ... scored a 14-0, five-inning shutout victory over Niagara (March 18), limiting the Purple Eagles to one hit and the minimum of 15 batters as the Cardinals turned an inning-ending double play after a one-out hit in the fourth ... pitched a 4-0, seven-inning shutout victory over Central Michigan (April 21), limiting the Chippewas to seven hits and a pair of walks ... logged a career-best six strikeouts in a seven-inning complete game victory over Dayton (Feb. 25) ... also collected six strikeouts in an eight-inning complete game victory over Northern Illinois (April 1).

2011 (Jr.): Earned third letter at Ball State ... named MAC West Division Pitcher of the Week (May 3) ... appeared in 28 games in the circle, including eight starts ... posted an 8-2 record, including four complete game victories ... also collected a pair of saves ... recorded a 3.03 earned-run average over 92.1 innings of work ... struck out 38 batters ... held opposing batters to a .279 batting average ... threw a career-long nine innings of relief at Bowling Green (May 1), allowing no runs and just five hits while striking out a pair of Falcons ... pitched seven innings in complete game victories versus Toledo (March 26) and in the second game of a doubleheader at Eastern Michigan (April 15) ... notched a season-high four strikeouts in the game versus EMU, which she later tied in the first game of a doubleheader at Buffalo (April 23) ... chalked up three strikeouts in three games ... pitched the fifth and final inning in a combined shutout versus Wright State (April 12), striking out two of the three batters she faced ... logged five-inning complete game wins in the nightcaps of doubleheaders at Ohio (April 1) and at Toledo (April 29) ... recorded saves in back-to-back games on March 8 versus Monmouth and at Central Florida ... held teams scoreless in nine appearances and hitless in two trips to the mound.

2010 (So.): Earned second letter at Ball State ... helped guide Ball State to the program's second-consecutive MAC Regular Season Championship, as well as the MAC Tournament Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament ... appeared in 10 games in the circle, including making four starts ... posted a 2-1 record and a 4.20 earned-run average over 28.1 innings of work ... recorded her first career win in the circle after pitching a season-long 6.1 innings in a 7-5 victory over Rutgers (March 6) ... chalked up 14 strikeouts, while walking just six batters on the year ... held opponents hitless in three appearances ... recorded her first career save in the second game of a doubleheader at Northern Illinois (Apr. 30), throwing a perfect final inning ... struck out three batters in three games.

2009 (Fr.): Earned first letter at Ball State ... helped lead the Cardinals to the program's first ever MAC Regular Season Championship ... First Team All-MAC ... appeared in five games in the circle, making one start ... her first career appearance was a 1.0 inning start at No. 16 Georgia ... threw 4.2 innings on the year, racking up a pair of strikeouts, including one at Georgia and one at Purdue ... pitched a season-long 1.2 innings in the second game of a doubleheader at Northern Illinois, retiring all five batters she faced ... earned an 0-1 record for the season.
