MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State men’s volleyball coach Joel Walton will air his first coach’s show of the 2014 season tonight on WCRD. The show, hosted by 2013 AVCA College Student Report of the Year CJ Allard, will be streamed online at WCRD.net and will be available in the Muncie area on 91.3. The show will run from 6-7 p.m.
Joining Coach Walton on the show tonight will be seniors Graham McIlvaine and Kevin Owens. McIlvaine has tallied 478 assists on the season for the Cardinals for a 9.56 assists per set average. The Hinsdale, Ill., native ranks sixth in program history in career assists with 2,449. Owens is coming a match against Mount Olive that saw him hit a blistering .727 attack percentage with eight kills. The middle attacker is second on the team in total blocks averaging 1.00 blocks per set.
No. 14 Ball State is 10-5 on the season and 4-2 in the MIVA. The Cardinals won three-straight matches last season defeating No. 13 Ohio State, 3-1, in Columbus before picking up sweeps against Barton and Mount Olive in Worthen Arena. Walton picked up his 294th career win against Mount Olive and is just six wins away from the 300-win mark.
