MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State men’s volleyball middle attackers Kevin Owens and Matt Leske were named to the 2013 Volleyball Magazine NCAA All-American third team. This is the first such honor for both student-athletes.
Owens and Leske were honored by the MIVA by earning First Team and Second Team honors respectively. The tandem helped the Cardinals finish the season with the best blocking average in the nation at 3.05 blocks per set. The Ball State defense also finished the season with a 10.74 digs per set mark which ranked first in Division I-II.
Owens finished the season second in the country in hitting percentage with a .402 clip and fifth in blocks per set with a 1.33 average. Leske was also a force at the net and his 1.43 blocks per set average was second in the nation.
Ball State finished the season with a 21-6 record and a 9-5 mark in conference play.
