MUNCIE, Ind. - Men's volleyball head coach Joel Walton was selected as May's WLBC Ball State Difference Maker of the Month from the Ball State Federal Credit Union. Walton was named MIVA Coach of the Year this past season after guiding the Cardinals to a 21-6 record overall and a 9-5 conference record.

The WLBC Ball State Difference Maker of the Month recognizes a Ball State organization, student, faculty or a Ball State employee who has gone above and beyond in serving Ball State University and the community.

Walton just finished his 15th season at the helm of the Ball State men's volleyball team and has amassed an overall record of 281-154 over his time. The Cardinals were ranked as high as ninth this season in the AVCA Division I-II Coaches Poll and had five student-athletes honored as a part of either the First Team or Second Team All-MIVA.
