MVB's Owens Earns Second Straight MIVA Nod

MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State men's volleyball middle attacker Kevin Owens was named MIVA Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week and the third time this season. 

Owens headed up the Cardinal block with 1.62 blocks per set in wins against No. 9 Lewis and No. 11 Loyola. Owens tied his career high in solo blocks with his three against the Ramblers. In the match against Lewis, Owens assisted on six blocks. While excelling at the net, Owens also had a 1.50 kills per set average for a .346 clip in the two matches. 

Owens and the Cardinals clinched the No. 3 seed in the MIVA Tournament and will host the IPFW Mastodons Saturday, Apr. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Worthen Arena.
