No. 15 Men's Volleyball Goes on the Road

MUNCIE, Ind. - The No. 15 Ball State men's volleyball team will set out on its last road trip this weekend when it goes to Quincy and Lindenwood. The Cardinals are currently on an eight-match winning streak.

Scouting the Cardinals
No. 15 Ball State (16-5, 5-5) is currently on an eight-match winning streak after earning victories over Limestone and Pfeiffer. The Cardinals finished the month of March with a perfect 8-0 record and only dropped two sets.

The Cardinals cracked the top-15 in the AVCA Coaches Poll last week for the first time 
since the 2011 season and remain No. 15 this week.

Ball State was once again honored this past week by the MIVA after junior setter 
Graham McIlvaine was named Defensive Player of the Week after notching his fifth and sixth double-double of the season. The setter got under a career-high 18 digs against Limestone.

Ball State in National Rankings

Ball State leads the nation in digs per set with a 11.17 digs per set average. The Cardinals also rank second in the country in kills per set (13.08), third in blocks per set (2.95) and fourth in assists per set (12.19).

Junior middle attacker Matt Leske continues to lead the nation in blocking with his 1.44 
blocks per set average. Tommy Rouse is third in Division I-II in digs per set with his 2.89 digs per set average.

Scouting Quincy

The Hawks (9-17, 0-10 MIVA) were idle last week. They will close the home season this weekend when they host Ball State and IPFW at Pepsi Arena. Freshman Jack Gamache leads the team and is ffith in the MIVA in total kills (262, 2.98 kills per set). Junior Brian Peth ranks fifth in the MIVA in total digs (181, 2.03 digs per set).

Series with Quincy

This will mark the 45th meeting between these two programs. Ball State holds the overall advantage at 39-4 and won a 3-1 match at Worthen earlier this season.

Scouting Lindenwood
In its lightest week of the 2013 schedule, the Lindenwood Lions picked up the 3-0 sweep over Quincy. Colin Hackworth led the squad with nine kills in the match. In the victory over the Hawks, junior outside hitter Michael Adam recorded his 500th kill and 100th block in a Lindenwood uniform.

Series with Lindenwood

Ball State defeated Lindenwood earlier this season in Muncie in five sets and holds a 5-1 advantage in the all-time series.

Spotless March

The Cardinals earned a perfect 8-0 mark in the month of March to go with its 8-0 streak back in January through February. In March Ball State only dropped two sets.
