Ball State's gymnastics team will host Penn and Centenary Friday at 7 p.m. in Irving Gym of the Student Recreation and Wellness Center.
The Cardinals have won two meets in a row and stand 2-0 in the Mid-American Conference. This non-conference meet will feature Penn, which is 1-0 on the season and placed third and fourth in two invitationals to start the season. Centenary, which competes at the NCAA Division III, placed second in its first invitational of the season before falling to Southeast Missouri State.
Ball State had individual champions in three events and the all-around in its last meet vs. Northern Illinois to even its season record at 2-2 overall.
Brittney Emmons won the vault with a 9.85 and the all-around with a 38.70, while Brooklyn Schumacher tied for first on the bars with a 9.8 and Denasiha Christian tied for first on the floor with a 9.775.
The Cardinals, under the direction of head coach Nadalie Walsh, is off to one of its best starts in school history. Against NIU, the Cardinals tallied a 48.725 on the vault, which was the ninth best team vault score in school history.
