Gymnastics Suffers Loss at Western Michigan


Despite a third straight individual all-around title by Nicole Allen, the Ball State women's gymnastics team suffered a 194.225 to 191.600 loss at Western Michigan.

With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 2-6 overall and 1-4 in the Mid-American Conference.  Ball State will host Bowling Green Friday at 7 p.m. in Irving Gym in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center.

Allen posted a 39.00 all-around total to claim the title.  Allen won the beam with a 9.675, placed third on the vault with a 9.875, was fourth on the bars with a 9.700 and finished fourth on the floor with a 9.750.  Allen also won the all-around in Ball State's previous two meets -- at home vs. Eastern Michigan and at Michigan State.

Emily Wehrle tied for second on the beam with a 9.650 mark, while Aftyn Siemer finished third on the floor with a 9.775 score. 

Morgan Coslow and Brooklyn Schumacher tied for fifth on the bars with 9.675 marks, while Kayla Kmiecik managed a 9.650.
