Ball State's women's gymnastics team suffered a 195.025 to 193.300 loss at Michigan State, but Nicole Allen managed to win the vault and the all-around for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals tallied a season high team score of 48.250 on the vault plus managed a 48.125 on the bars, a 48.350 on the beam and a 48.575 on the floor.
Allen recorded a season high and tied her career high with a 9.90 on the vault to win the individual title. The 9.90 ties for the third best vault score in Ball State history. She managed a career best 39.150 in the all-around to win her second straight all-around individual title. The 39.150 mark is the 12th best score in school history.
Leah Wilson and Allen tied for second on the beam with identical 9.75 marks.
Allen and Aftyn Siemer tied for second on the floor with 9.800 marks.
The Cardinals fell to 2-5 on the season and will compete at Mid-American Conference foe Western Michigan Sunday at 1 p.m. Ball State will return to the friendly confines of Irving Gym in Muncie, Ind., Friday for a 7 p.m. home MAC meet vs. Bowling Green.
