Gymnastics Falls to EMU on Senior Night

MUNCIE, Ind. -  The Ball State gymnastics team dropped a 194.075 to 193.600 decision to Mid-American Conference foe Eastern Michigan Friday evening. Denasiha Christian, Angie Hosbach and Jessica Leko all won individual events for the Cardinals.

The Cardinals bested the Eagles on the beam (48.80-48.25) and finished with a 48.30 on the vault, 47.875 on the bars and a 48.625 on the floor exercise.

Christian finished first in the vault with a 9.80, while Samantha Santos finished with a season-best score of 9.55

Hosbach took home the individual win on the bars with a season-best score of 9.80. Madison Shorts finished in a tie with teammate Brooklyn Schumacher with a season-best score of 9.725.

Leko tied her season-best in the beam with a 9.85 for first place. Hosbach finished third in the event with a season-best with a 9.75.

On the floor exercise, Erin Patchey tied her career-best with a 9.80 to finish in a tie for third place. Sarah Ebeyer turned in a career-best 9.75, while Schumacher earned a season-best also with a score of 9.75.

Ball State Athletics would like to congratulate seniors Angie Hosbach, Kristin Vignola and Leah Wilson.

The Cardinals are next headed to the MAC Championships, Mar. 22 at the Bowen Fieldhouse on the campus of Eastern Michigan.
