Ball State's gymnastics team tallied a 194.025 to 193.900 Mid-American Conference victory over Bowling Green in Irving Gym in Muncie, Ind.
Nicole Allen led the Cardinals with her fourth straight all-around victory. She managed a 38.775 to win the all-around.
Ball State began the meet on the vault and tallied a 48.075, while Bowling Green recorded a 48.500 on the bars. The Cardinals moved to the bars and tallied a 48.700, while BG scored a 48.725 on the vault.
After two events, the Falcons led 97.225 to 96.775.
Allen led the Cardinals with a 9.775 on the vault to place third. Aftyn Siemer tied for fifth with a 9.675 mark. Kayla Kmiecik tied for first on the bars with a 9.800 mark, which tied her career high, while Allen tied for third with a career high 9.775. Brooklyn Schumacher managed a fifth-place finish with a 9.725.
Ball State competed on the beam in the third rotation and managed a 48.400, while the Falcons tallied a 48.525 on the floor.
Kmiecik tied her career high with a 9.725 on the beam, while Schumacher managed a 9.70 career high.
After three events, Bowling Green led the meet 145.675 to 145.225.
Ball State rallied on the floor with a 48.825, while Bowling Green scored a 48.200 on the beam to give the Cardinals the win.
Ball State swept the top three spots on the floor, and Schumacher tied for fourth with a 9.725. Siemer won the floor with a 9.850, which tied her career high. Angie Hosbach finished second after tying her career high with a 9.800 and Emily Wehrle tied her all-time best mark and placed third with a 9.750.
With the victory, the Cardinals improved to 3-6 overall and 2-4 in MAC action. Ball State will compete at Kentucky Sun., March 11, at 2 p.m.
