Ball State’s football team completed its 2014 preseason camp as classes begin on the school’s campus, and fourth-year head coach Pete Lembo announced an updated depth chart.
“It has been a competitive preseason,” Lembo said. “Our depth across the board is gradually improving and along with that comes more internal competition for playing time. We are pleased with the noticeable improvement several players have made since the conclusion of spring practice in April. We have had our share of bumps and bruises during camp, but we look forward to working some veterans back into the lineup as we close in on the season opener. This will be an important week of practice as the players adjust to the start of fall semester classes and the 20 hour work week.”
The Cardinals’ depth chart features 14 seniors in terms of eligibility, including five fifth-year students.
The depth chart also has 11 returning starters and two specialists from the 2013 squad that posted a 10-3 overall record, a 7-1 mark in the Mid-American Conference and appeared in the GoDaddy Bowl – a second straight bowl appearance for the Cardinals.
Ball State opens the 2014 season Aug. 30, with a home game at Scheumann Stadium vs. Colgate. Tickets to all Ball State games are available online at www.ballstatesports.com or by calling the ticket office at 1.888.BSU.TICKET.
