Ball State's football program completed its annual Pro Day with 21 scouts from National Football League teams in attendance for the festivities.

The Cardinals were represented at the Pro Day by Zane Fakes, Jeffery Garrett, Jonathan Newsome, Nathan Ollie, Jamill Smith, Willie Snead, Keith Wenning and past players Torieal Gibson and Barrington Scott.

Wenning, Snead and Newsome also participated at the NFL Combine earlier this spring.

The majority of the Cardinals participated in all the activities, including the weight room tests, vertical jump, broad jump, 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle agility drill, three-cone drill and position specific tests.

Snead was clocked at 4.51 in the 40-yard dash, which is an improvement on the 4.62 he ran at the NFL Combine.  Smith's 40 time of 4.47 would have ranked 16th among wide receivers at the NFL Combine.  Smith, who completed his Ball State career at 135 lbs. after walking on as a freshman at 123 lbs., was measured at 152 lbs.

Fakes managed a 4.90 mark in the 40-yard dash, which would have ranked 20th among the tight ends clocked at the NFL Combine.  His 31-inch vertical jump would have ranked 13th among tight ends at the NFL Combine, while his 7.38 time in the 3-cone drill would have tied for sixth among tight ends at the NFL Combine.

Garrett managed a 4.58 time in the 40-yard dash, while his 35-inch vertical jump would have ranked him 21st among cornerbacks at the NFL Combine.

Ollie tallied a 5.25 in the 40, and his 28.5-inch vertical jump would have rated him 10th at the NFL Combine among defensive tackles.

Wenning completed the day's workout with a throwing session to Ball State receivers plus others from schools around the state that attended.  In a measurement key for NFL scouts, the average quarterback hand size in the league is 9.5 inches.  Wenning's hand was measured at 10.75 inches.

In addition to the Ball State contingent, student-athletes representing Saint Francis (Fort Wayne), Marian University, Alabama A&M and Wabash were in attendance.
