Former Ball State punter Scott Kovanda has had a whirlwind of a season, from being named a finalist for the Ray Guy Award to his participation in the NFLPA All-Star Game. Kovanda's latest venture brings him to the NFL Combine for the biggest job interview of his life.
The Combine is interview with every NFL team for elite NFL draft prospects. Kovanda is the third Cardinal to appear at the Combine in recent years and the first since 2009. That year the Cards sent Nate Davis and Rob Brewster to Indianapolis. Both men were subsequently drafted in the fifth and third rounds respectively.
If Kovanda can get himself drafted, he'd be the third BSU punter to hear his name called and the first since 2005, when the Rams took Reggie Hodges in sixth round. Brad Maynard had previously been selected in the third round by the New York Football Giants in 1997.
Watch as Kovanda sits down with Joel Godett to talk about the Combine and his draft prep and training.
