NOTES:  Helped Ball State running back Jahwan Edwards to rush for 1,410 yards in 2012, which is the third best single-season total in school history . . . as a freshman, Edwards rush for 786 yards in 2011, including a career high 123 yards in a victory at Ohio, which won the Mid-American Conference Championship . . . Edwards earned All-MAC Third-Team honors in 2012 . . . tutored punter Scott Kovanda, who was one of three finalists for the Ray Guy Award in 2012, to an All-MAC Third-Team selection in 2011 for the Cardinals . . . helped Jamill Smith receive All-MAC Second Team honors as a punt return specialist in 2011 and third team honors in 2012. . . . Ball State placekicker Steven Schott, who earned All-MAC First Team honors in 2012, made 25 field goals in 2012, which tied the school record for a season and completed his career ranked fourth all-time with 41 field goals made . . . Ball State special teams were ranked fifth in the country as ranked by Football Outisders in 2012 . . . coached the running backs and special teams at Louisiana-Lafayette after coaching running backs and special teams at Eastern Illinois . . . coached an all-conference punter in four of the last five years . . . helped Louisiana-Lafayette to rank 25th in the nation in net punt and kickoff coverage in 2009 . . . tutored an EIU running back to 1,000-yard rushing seasons in each of his three years . . . coached defensive backs and special teams at Christopher Newport in 2004-05 and helpted the Captains to a USA South Atlantic Conference Co-Championship and berth in the NCAA Division III Playoffs . . . coached cornerbacks at Villanova in 2003 and helped the team to a ranking as high as No. 4 in the Football Championship Subdivision Poll.
