Football Coach Pete Lembo Involved in Community

Ball State head football coach Pete Lembo received a Ball State Difference Maker of the Month Award earlier this year, and was a part of the "Reading Riley" program.

The Ball State Difference Maker of the Month Award was presented by WLBC and the Ball State Federal Credit Union.  Lembo accepted the award prior to one of his Football Friday Insider Luncheons.  He was recognized for making a difference in the lives of the student-athletes at Ball State, and for making a difference in the Muncie community.

Lembo was also involved in the James Whitcomb Riley Boyhood Home photo contest called "Reading Riley".  As a well-recognized member of the community, Lembo read a book of Riley poetry and encourage reading among the youths in the Muncie area.

In his second season at the helm of the Cardinals, Lembo guided Ball State's football team to a 9-4 overall record and an appearance in the 2012 Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl St. Petersburg.

The Cardinals will begin the 2013 season with a Thursday night home game Aug. 29, vs. Illinois State at Scheumann Stadium.
