Field Hockey Suffers 7-1 Loss to Miami
MUNICE, Ind. - The Ball State field hockey team (3-13, 0-5 MAC) dropped a 7-1 decision to the Miami RedHawks Saturday afternoon at the BSU Turf Field. Sophomore Tarel Teach (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) scored for the Cardinals in the 63rd minute.
Miami got on the board quickly, scoring two goals in the first two minutes of action. The score at halftime read 5-0 with the RedHawks getting 21 shots to the Cardinals' four. Maddi Elliott (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) made 10 saves in the first half.
The Cardinals held the RedHawks to four penalty corners in the second half, with Miami getting 13 shots to Ball State's three. Teach was able to score a goal in the 63rd minute, beating the goalie to put in the shot in the right side of the box.
Shelby Henley (Novi, Mich./Novi) was able to corral seven saves in the second half and allowed two goals.
