Megan Coyne, who has spent the last two years as director of compliance for athletics at Florida Atlantic, has been named Ball State's director of athletics compliance.
A 2007 graduate of FAU, Coyne returned to her alma mater in the fall of 2009 as the director of compliance for athletics.
Prior to that position, Coyne served as a governance intern for the NCAA national office in 2008-09. In 2007-08, Coyne served as a compliance assistant at FAU (Aug. 2007-Dec. 2007) and as the assistant compliance officer at Seattle University (Jan. 2008-June 2008).
Coyne first went to FAU as goalkeeper for the women's soccer team. Her four-year career included an Atlantic Sun Championship and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. Coyne ended her career fourth all-time in goals against average (0.44). She was a winner of multiple conference all-academic awards and was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District III Team plus was named to the President's List (4.0 GPA) several times during her career. Coyne also served as the Sun Belt Conference representative for the Division I National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
A native of Marysville, Wash., Coyne graduated summa cum laude in December of 2007 from FAU with a triple major in communications, sociology and social sciences.
