Chris Ulm, a part of the Ball State athletics family since 1999, has been named the school's director of marketing and promotion.
In addition to heading the school's marketing and promotions efforts, Ulm will serve as the secondary sports supervisor for field hockey, gymnastics and men's and women's golf. He will also supervise the Ball State cheerleaders and Code Red Dance Team.
A Ball State student from 1999-2003, Ulm was a men's basketball student manager for four seasons, including the 2001-02 season as the head manager during the Cardinals run to the National Invitation Tournament Final Eight.
After serving as an athletics administration intern in the summer of 2003, Ulm worked as a marketing representative for the Ball State property for Nelligan Sports Marketing. From 2004-08, he served as the director of sales for the Ball State property with NSM.
In 2008, Ulm was named assistant director of corporate sales at Ball state and served in that capacity until earning the title of director of marketing and promotions.
In addition, Ulm has served as the on-court emcee for Ball State football and men's basketball since 2003.
A 2003 graduate of Ball State with a bachelor's degree in telecommunications, Ulm has been a member of the Muncie Civic Theatre Board since 2012. He was also a member of the Delaware County Big Brothers/Big Sisters Board from 2005-07.
